Love the Scale
"Although I net most of my fish, I do like being able to get a quick weight of the fish. The Ultra Grip is easy to open (simple pull of the trigger), once closed it holds onto the shaking fish very well without putting a hole in the fish. Scale is easy to read and I can use the grips to get a quick photo - especially for Fish with Teeth. Then quickly release it - again with a easy pull of the trigger!"

"The Ego Ultra-Grip 40lb. Gripper tool/scale is in a word, Awesome!!! I’m a professional charter Capt. As well as tournament fisherman and I’m on the water 3-5 days a week weather permitting. This tool is great for fish retrieval so as to not harm them as well as getting a fairly accurate weight of the fish. Even when its just my customers they always enjoy being able to see what their big catch weighs before going to the dock scales. It able to be calibrated as well by hand to get the most accurate weight. As far as the Gripper goes the thin jaws work great for getting in tight spots especially fish with a small mouth, without harming them if they are to be released. Last but by no means least as all other EGO products this one holds up great under the heavy sun and salt environment, just rinse it off now and then with fresh water and a shot of spray lubricant never hurts anything. Great all around kayak fishing tool
"As someone who fishing out of a kayak for everything from flathead catfish to bull drum I needed a gripper that would quickly grasp the fish and help me get him in the kayak. But for me the best part of the tool is that it allows me to keep the fish tight to the kayak while I pedal into the current to help the fish recover before simply pulling the trigger and releasing the fish in good health."
